Don’t Stop & Get Stuck. Keep Moving & Stretching

We are all know there can be many incidences that can interrupt the general “flow” of daily activities, cutting out the exercise routine or becoming interrupted, slowed down or changed.   It becomes very obvious when the body does not move quite so easily.  The physical and mental effort to keep going and “stay on track” sometimes seems and may become overwhelming which compromise ongoing fitness efforts and goals. It is important to get back on track as soon as it is possible and so I thought one way to help get going again might be by gaining some more insight into why we become stiff quickly. This may be “the motivator/ trigger” to help you.

In past newsletters I have provided different information which may have been of interest and relevant to your needs.  Many topics have been covered to provide you with more in depth understanding into how your body works, with accompanying relevant exercise examples to assist.  We are all familiar with the movement foundations which are essential as a base to work from, these being strength, suppleness and stamina.  There can be some other overriding reasons why we can’t move as well as when we were when we were young beyond just undergoing the fundamental moves. In one issue I covered the issue concerning changes in collagen which explained a reason why we become stiffer and less able to move, and in another background information concerning arthritic joint changes. This newsletter is covering another aspect relating to stiffness that can also have profound effects on our ability to move easily, that being the issue concerning Fascia which is a thin sheath of fibrous tissue enclosing muscles or other organs providing support and structure to the body. Please read the next blog post and take care. See you in a couple of weeks. Sally
